With around 400,000 participants, South by Southwest, held annually in Austin, Texas, is the largest meeting in the field of innovation and creative industries worldwide. Here the latest technologies as well as films, bands and trends will be presented. Beyond technology and innovation, creative industries such as music, film and art are highlighted.
In 2018 DWIH New York Program Manager Gerrit Roessler traveled to SXSW. His activities included:
- sitting on a four-member jury of a one-hour pitch competition in the German Haus.
- giving a 15 minute lecture on the topic “Digital Germany” at the German booth at the SXSW fair in the congress center.
- serving as a guest at a brunch hosted by the Consulate General in the German Haus, to which all representatives of the innovation and creative economy, as well as honorary guests and political representatives were invited.
