GAIN Annual Conference 2024

GAIN conference in San Francisco: Participants met with more than 60 German universities, research institutions, and funding agencies, took part in workshops, and presented their research at the GAIN Science Slam. Our Head of Programs, Dr. Jan Lüdert, was attending as well.

One of the highlights: A workshop entitled “Career as a scientist at the UN and EU” delved into career options for academics from all disciplines at international organizations. Attendees learned about how at the OECD, the WHO or the World Bank, it is all about putting the results of science and research into practice. The DWIH New York is very happy to support this event at the intersection of academia and international organizations.

The German Academic International Network (GAIN) is the network of scientists and researchers of all disciplines from Germany, working at leading research institutions worldwide with special focus on the United States and Canada. It is a joint initiative of three major research funding organizations in Germany, the DAAD, AvH and DFG. At its annual German science and research career fair early career researchers and representatives from all areas of the German research landscape come together for three days of exchange, learning and networking.
