From Renovation to Innovation in Silicon Saxony: Successes and Challenges

The Harvard/MIT Germany Trek 2024 brings together key stakeholders from academia and industry, the Harvard/MIT delegation, and guests to explore the successes and challenges of innovation. Treks are student-led trips that aim at immersing a diverse group of graduate students into the culture of a different country. During this time, they explore unique local challenges and opportunities by learning from policymakers, industry executives and representatives from civil society.

The mission of this conference day is to convene stakeholders of the high-tech industry from Dresden and beyond, facilitating critical dialogue between industry leaders, the Harvard/ MIT Delegation, and guests on the industrial development of the region from past to future. By strengthening the transatlantic partnership, the conference day aims to spark new ideas and enable future connections.

During a boat cruise on the Elbe, short keynote speeches will provide impulses on innovation in the Dresden region today. The speeches will be followed by a moderated discussion and breakout formats for further discussion with the students.
