Sustainability Initiatives on Governors Island

The annual DWIH focus topic “Sustainable Innovations” encapsulates a broad range of applications, so the DWIH New York Team wanted to experience what this could look like on the ground. The team went on a field trip to Governors Island, located in the New York Upper Bay, to learn about local sustainability initiatives.

MONOCAB-OWL – A Visionary Monorail Vehicle for a New Mobility

The project MONOCAB-OWL was initiated to create an innovative monorail vehicle for sustainable mobility in rural areas. It’s a joint project of OWL University of Applied Sciences and Arts, Bielefeld University of Applied Sciences, Fraunhofer IOSB-INA and the Landeseisenbahn Lippe (e. V.).

Optimizing Energy Efficiency with Climate bOWL

A growing awareness of sustainability among the general population, along with rising energy costs, means that companies are increasingly focused on the goal of climate neutrality.
