Voting Authoritarians into Power – Panel Discussion on June 6, 2024
“The big joke on democracy is that it gave its mortal enemies the tools to its own destruction.”* This statement from Joseph Goebbels, Nazi Germany’s Minister of Propaganda, calls attention to one of the central conundrums of democracy: that democracy and the rights it guarantees can also benefit those who seek to abolish them. University Alliance Ruhr Welcomes German Science Council
For the first time in its history, the Wissenschaftsrat (German National Science Council) was hosted by a university alliance: from April 17 to 19, the committee held its spring meetings in Bochum and was welcomed by the management of the University Alliance Ruhr (UA Ruhr) at the university reception in the Dortmunder U. Science Minister Ina Brandes praised the UA Ruhr in front of 130 guests as an example of successful cooperation in teaching, research and transfer.
