DWIH Job Announcement: Communications Officer
The German Center for Research and Innovation (DWIH) New York is seeking a full-time (40h/week), creative, communicative person to join our team as Communications Officer. This is an in-house position. Anticipated start date: July 15, 2024.

The Communications Officer will work closely with the Executive Director, Head of Programs, and Program Officer of the DWIH New York and will be mainly responsible for a variety of science communication, marketing, and outreach functions. This includes managing the DWIH brand, and overseeing its communications platforms (website, social media, and newsletter). Other tasks include event organization and file management.
Minimum Requirements:
- Fluency in English and German (native English speaker preferred)
- Comprehensive professional experience in communications, journalism, PR, and/or marketing
- Strong background in writing, editing and distributing content, including material for a website, speeches, newsletters, presentations, and marketing material that take the DWIH message to the public
- Strong computer skills, including MS Office, familiarity with the Adobe Creative Suite, and/or Canva
- Experience with web content management systems and social media
- Strong interest in science, research institutions, and entrepreneurship in Germany and the U.S.
Preferred additional qualifications:
- Experience with photography and/or videography for social media
- Professional experience with LinkedIn and its functions (paid campaigns, events, newsletters)
- Familiarity with WordPress and/or Squarespace
- Experience with Customer Relationship Management (CRM) tools
- Experience with preparing tenders and engaging external vendors for communication needs
Salary: USD 75.000 per year plus health and retirement benefits. Paid vacation and sick leave.
