HPI is hosting its second clean-IT conference on October 25 and 26, 2023, centered around ideas for a sustainable digital world and bringing together internationally renowned experts. Register now!
Artificial intelligence applications are significantly increasing our demand for electricity. At the same time, developments in AI also represent a great opportunity to conserve more and more resources in the future. In order to meet the climate goals, it is therefore urgently necessary to think together digitization and sustainability. Especially now that AI models are used more and more extensively.
The Hasso Plattner Institute (HPI) is therefore bringing together high-ranking, international experts from the fields of science, business and politics as part of its second clean-IT conference, which will be held in Potsdam, on October 25 and 26, 2023. They will demonstrate and discuss how artificial intelligence can support the fight against climate change and what needs to be done to further reduce the carbon footprint of AI models.
Speakers include John Platt, Distinguished Scientist at Google and Prof. Dr. Johan Rockström, Director of the Potsdam Institute for Climate Impact Research.
The conference is hosted by Prof. Ralf Herbrich, Managing Director at HPI and Head of the Department “Artificial Intelligence and Sustainability”. He will open the conference and is looking forward to the international exchange: “We have invited some of the most interesting people from research, industry and politics to transnationally discuss solutions for one of the greatest challenges of our time. We get the best results when people from different professions, disciplines and experiences get to talk to each other.”
